poor sweet angel, I don't want to even think what sick depraved scum did to him.
If it's def. a safety issue and you can guarantee he won't get out, I'm not one to say don't declaw. However my cats have their claws, and we don't have problems. Just look into the procedure and decide if is acceptable for you-unfortunately it is essentially the amputation of their first "finger" joint, and is very painful....plus I'm not sure how well he's be able to get around with his one leg in a cast up to the elbow and hurting badly. Keep me posted-good luck whatever you decide, and bless you for taking him in!!!!

hi, sorry it took me so long to answer....
I know much about cats, but not really about cats missing a leg.
All I really know is that any animal who loses a limb seems to adjust amazingly, and does things with no problem...I mean I have known a rat with no front legs, and she's raised many babies!!! =) Does he(?) have claws?
I'd say be sure to keep him indoors, or he could easily be harmed....
