Clancy & Finnegan

Last month my sister Robin lost her beautiful Lab Clancy at 15yrs. after suffering from a stroke. Clancey was an amazing dog having survived cancer three times in her lifetime. She was a gift and a miracle to everyone who new her.

Dylan

I would like to remember my very best fur friend Dylan. I have wanted to care for an Irish wolfhound my whole life. I was blessed to be able to do so with Dylan. He was truly a most wonderful hound.

Bartman

I got Bartman was he was only 5 weeks old and not quite weaned.  We weaned him on tuna and milk.  He was so tiny whenever he tried to walk his little legs would “splat” out from up under him.

Scooby

Scooby passed away on Feb 6, 2008 in his sleep; he was 17 years old.  He had a heart problem for which he was being treated for with medication for the past 8 months.

Tazmo
On February 10th, we lost the most incredible dog I have ever met.  Tazmo came to me when he was 16 years old and not in very good condition.  I honestly thought that we were going to be more of a hospice to him, giving him a home with no abuse, healthy food and lots of love.  I knew that if his previous mom had taken him to the shelter, he would have been put down.
Taz
This is Taz.  My partner and I got a phone call at about 2 am back in 1987 from a friend who works for a local animal shelter. She said "I know you guys haven't been looking for a dog but you have to come down and see this dog".
Mumford

Eleven years ago, on the day before Thanksgiving, I was adopted by a grey and white Maine Coon, the most bedraggled, skin and bones cat I've ever seen.  He had been rescued from a forest preserve on Long Island where he had been dumped by a family that did not want him.  He had never learned to hunt and he was next to death by starvation when they found him.  I brought him home and named him Mumford.

Nonna

On August 14, 2007 I lost my best friend! Nonna was her name and she was the prettiest yellow lab I have ever seen. She came in to my life when I lost my grandma and brought me so much joy.

Sammy Jo and Chauncey

These two babies were taken from me March 12, 2008 when they were attacked by a big dog.  I threw myself onto the large dog and pulled him backwards on me. Then my little dog Liddy  jumped in to help me.

Baxter

Baxter was not just a horse, he was my best friend, my crying towel, my soul mate. I had to let him go at 31 years old and I miss him everyday.

I knew what he was thinking before even he did and I trusted his every move because I knew he would always take care of me.

Jasper

I lost my Jasper in January, 2008. He was a very lovable cat and I miss him very much.

My husband buried Jasper in the flower garden we have in honor of my dad. We will always love and miss him dearly.

Shelby

My chihuahua Shelby died very recently. I had her for about 12 years and she was my baby. It is still very hard for me to talk about her.

She died peacefully at home and we had her cremated. She had cancer three times and before but this time it was in her blood and pancreas so there was not much we could do.

Blackie

On February 10th 2008 I lost my Blackie. Sweetest little dog you could ever have. She gave me so many years of wonderful moments and memories and was with me through the good and bad. She came to me at the age of 3 full of energy, a bundle of joy, a loss for those who gave her away a wonderful gift to me.

Riley

Riley was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer on 1/21/08 and it had already spread to his pelvis. He had just turned six and we were told there was nothing that could be done because of the location of the prostate on a dog. Riley was also diagnosed with a thyroid condition at the same time and after getting the thyroid meds, he was a whole different dog.

Emmy
I got my Emmy on Mother's Day 2002. She was the first dog I had had in many years. We lived in apartments and could not have a dog, so once we got a house of our own, my husband got me Emmy. We found her at the local shelter. She had just come in the morning of our visit. Mine was the first name on the card for her. She had a collar on when she came in, so I had to wait an extra 5 days (besides the original 7) to get her, giving the owners time to claim her. The 12 days I waited for her were agonizing. What if the owners came to claim her? She was 3 months old and very thin. You could see her ribs. She'd been on the street awhile.
