Scooby passed away on Feb 6, 2008 in his sleep; he was 17 years old. He had a heart problem for which he was being treated for with medication for the past 8 months. |

On February 10th, we lost the most incredible dog I have ever met. Tazmo came to me when he was 16 years old and not in very good condition. I honestly thought that we were going to be more of a hospice to him, giving him a home with no abuse, healthy food and lots of love. I knew that if his previous mom had taken him to the shelter, he would have been put down. |

This is Taz. My partner and I got a phone call at about 2 am back in 1987 from a friend who works for a local animal shelter. She said "I know you guys haven't been looking for a dog but you have to come down and see this dog". |

Eleven years ago, on the day before Thanksgiving, I was adopted by a grey and white Maine Coon, the most bedraggled, skin and bones cat I've ever seen. He had been rescued from a forest preserve on Long Island where he had been dumped by a family that did not want him. He had never learned to hunt and he was next to death by starvation when they found him. I brought him home and named him Mumford. |
