One of the keys to successfully bathing your dog is to make sure that you are in a safe environment. If you are putting your dog in a tub or sink while you bathe them make sure that he is not going to slip. Placing a rubber mat in the tub or sink will give your dog a sense of security, rubber door mats work well for this purpose. Also make sure that you are not going to slip if water gets splashed on the floor. If you are using a hose to bathe your dog outside, make sure you are in an area where they feel secure.

It is believed that the Komondor is a descendant of the Tibetan dog, and it was brought to Hungary by nomadic Magyars a thousand years ago, in order to guard flocks of sheep. However archaeological evidence suggests that the Komondor was, in actual fact, the dog of the Cumans, or Komans, from light yellow or pallid, who were a Turkic speaking community that lived close to the eastern bend of the Yellow River in what is now China. The Russian Owtcharka was the original dog that had long legs and a wooly coat which enabled it to blend in with the flocks that it was protecting. This breed was valued so much by the shepherds that they did not allow interbreeding. The Komondor, whose plural is Komondorok, was a great foe to enemies of the flock and it is legendary that it eliminated the wolf from Hungary

The Pekingese dates back as far as 2000 B.C. The Pekingese has for years, been worshiped in the temples of China. It was also customary for the emperor to select four Pekes who were to become his bodyguards. The emperor would be preceded by these four Pekes on such occasions of state, whereby two of them would announce his approach at correct intervals with sharp, piercing barks, while the other two would daintily hold the hem of his royal robe in their mouths.

 The bearded collie is a breed which has evolved naturally over the centuries, not one that has been created in the relatively recent years, like those such as the Golden Retriever and the Doberman. The origin of the bearded collie can be traced back to more than 400 years ago. They were most probably developed at the end of the 15th century and during the 16th century by mating Polish lowland sheepdogs with Scottish sheepdogs. There is in actual fact very little information on this breed from that period until the 20th century.

We all know that brushing and flossing is a must if we want to keep all our teeth in our old age. Of course we want to take good care of our teeth and mouths because we desire pearly white teeth that are aesthetically appealing. However, we realize the importance of dental hygiene; we need to take care of our teeth so we don’t succumb to disease that could have been prevented by simply brushing and flossing multiple times each day. So, what about our dogs. They have teeth too, and they need dental care just like us .
