It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved companion and family member, Duke.

Duke was born in January 1994 in Summit County, Utah and passed away peacefully on June 24, 2008 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Duke was five months old when he came to our family from a shopping cart at PetSmart. It was love at first sight.

From the very moment he joined our family, Duke was the essence of a faithful and loving companion. His world was his family, and he wanted nothing more than to be at our side. I often joked that I should have named him Shadow, but Clinton chose the name Duke and it suited him well.

Even though small of stature, he thought he was the biggest and toughest of them all. His loyalty and companionship brought us much joy through the years. He loved spending time at the cabin and trips to St. George.

Duke is survived by his close friends, Oliver, Annie and Angel, who will miss him terribly. Having passed on before, Duke’s friends Sweetie, Poncho and Sammy will be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge to greet him. He is also survived by his family, Barbara, Tom, Clinton, Brooke, Andrew, Alexa, and Cailin. He also leaves behind many other close friends and family members. 

I will forever remember you Duke and will miss your tail wagging greeting when I return home at the end of the day . . .you will be missed beyond what words could ever express.
