Clancy & Finnegan

Last month my sister Robin lost her beautiful Lab Clancy at 15yrs. after suff ering from a stroke. Clancey was an amazing dog having survived cancer three times in her lifetime. She was a gift and a miracle to everyone who knew her. Two weeks later Robin and her partner Pat noticed their 4 year old Finnegan (middle) had a lump on her head and after contacting doctors from New Jersey to S. Carolina found this was inoperable brain cancer. She declined rapidly and after a heart wrenching decision they had to put her down on May 13. You can only imagine the grief her and Pat are suffering losing Clancey on April 5 and Finn on May 13. Robin took pictures like this one every holiday.Valentine's Day had hearts around their necks with licks, hugs, and kisses written on them.

A heartfelt thank you for including our dogs Clancy and Finn on your Rainbow Bridge Memorial page. It has been a difficult month, losing Clancy and then having Finn diagnosed with cancer. Clancy had an amazing 15 years with us. She beat cancer three times, when doctors and surgeons gave us no hope. Two days before her 15th birthday she succumbed to a stroke. Less than a week after losing Clancy, we noticed a lump on Finn’s head. The biopsy revealed an osteosarcoma. We proceeded with a CT only to be told that the lump was very close to Finn’s brain and surgery was not an option. The lump grew quickly. Our vet informed us that Finn did not have much time and she was concerned that the lump would soon invade her brain. We knew we had to put our feelings and emotions aside and do the right thing for Finn. We didn’t want to see her in pain, or go through a catastrophic episode so we opted to put her down. It is just so difficult and surreal. Words cannot explain the emptiness we feel in our hearts and our house. Thankfully, our 2 year old black lab helps to fill the void. Our thoughts and prayers to all who have lost a faithful companion. |

Dear Robin and Pat I'm glad you were up to adding more to the memorial I sent in for Clancey and Finn I want everyone to know what an important part of all of our family they were and most of all how much you and Pat loved them both. Again I am so sorry you have to bare the pain of this loss and you are both in my prayers. Your Sister Dawn |

I am also one of Robin's sisters. We will miss Clancy & Finn very much. We all knew that every day that Clancy had was a blessing with all the cancer she'd been through over the years. We never thought she would be with us as long as she was (two days shy of her 15th birthday). Finn was only four and a half when she passed. She had to be put down within a month. It was heart breaking to see Robin & Pat going throuht this. We're glad they have Jaz to keep them busy through this difficult time. Hopfully Finn has found Clancy on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. |
