My dog thinks I belong solely to her and growls at my husband when he comes to bed. Since she comes to work with me every day and gives delight to my students and my colleagues, I suppose it makes sense that she is reluctant to share me and that she wants to go with me everywhere -- into the garden, onto the sofa when I sit down to read, at my feet when I remember to practice my cello. If I have to leave her in the car (in safe weather) to go into a No Pets store, she grabs me by the shirt to try to make me take her with me.
