Hi there. My name is Chris. I’m a 37 year old single man from the Raleigh/Durham area and this is my story.
In November of 2004, I spotted an article about a singles/pets mixer in the daily News & Observer that included a casual mention of Animal Attraction.com, a dating site for pet lovers. As an assistant golf course superintendent, with little free time, I had sought the help of the internet for casual dating. Having had no success with several other sites, and a huge love for animals, especially my Siberian husky, Yuki, and cat Anastasia, I thought I’d give Animal Attraction.com a try!!
Meanwhile, some 800 miles away, Heather, a 36 year old woman from St. Louis encountered an article in the local newspaper about dating sites for pet lovers. She liked the way the site was formatted and decided to try it out.
One of the features that I found especially useful was the chat room. After several months of chatting with people and making lots of new friends, but no dating prospects in my area, I had all but given up on the hope of finding someone special. Then, in early May, I met Heather, as friends, in the chat room. After chatting until the wee hours of the morning from Friday into Saturday, Heather sent me an e-mail. We began chatting off-site, as well as in the chat room. A few days later we spoke on the phone for the first time!! After chatting on the computer and phone for several days, hours at a time, we decided to set up a meeting. Heather said that her dogs were the true judge of character in a mate, if they did not like me, I was not the one for her!!
I flew to St. Louis in late May for a casual weekend. After spending 4 days talking, eating, a day at the zoo, and helping to brick a patio at her best friends’ house, we agreed we were a great match!! Plus, Heather’s dogs didn’t gobble me up at first sight!!
In a leap of faith, we decided to live together. At the end of June 2005, Heather and the “kids,” Toby and Tootsie, moved in with me in North Carolina. After a little over a month, the dogs and cat, are adjusting well, and we’re progressing toward long term relationship goals. We both still go to the chat rooms on AnimalAttraction.com often to visit the many friends we have made on the site.
