on a light note, thought i'd start this thread to see who sleeps with their furry friends...dogs/cats or other

i used to sleep with my cat but he purred so loud he kept waking me up so had to ban him from the bed

now, i sleep with dog who takes up 3/4's of the bed  and gets mad if i move her (it's the only time she actually barks)

The cat sleeps with me every night...and all my dogs did too when I was growing up. I am so use to sleeping with the four legged kind than I am with the two legged kind.

Accck, what does that say about me???

Two humans, two dogs......recently got a king sized bed.  The new bed is higher so one pup can't do the climb in anymore.

I share my bed with two dogs now and one cat. The cat is now nearly 18 pounds so outweighs my pup but each of them love to take one of my pillows. Skyler can be anywhere on the bed so some nights when I am there, it is easier to sleep in a guest bed. They eventually all come in there but it might take a night or two, so it is a constant rotation for me to have enough room to sleep. Luckily weekends I just take the dogs to the country so there is one less furry friend to share my bed with. I hope the next woman in my life owns a cot, it might come in handy.

I just have the one dog Greg and he would make room if you are without a place to sleep. You are still sexy

I was gonna write that this is one topic that everyone can agree on as I remembered an earlier post on the subject.  That post also asked if you had a significant other that objected, what would you do.  Everyone also agreed that their pets came first!  Unfortunately, after re-reading the post, I discovered that was the one that someone suggested tying a dog to the bed  My animals in the bedroom can choose where they want to sleep (well, except for the puppy - for now he remains crated).  Sometimes I will have one, two or three cats curled up against me and if she feels like it, the other dog will too.  However, when I wake up it becomes a conflict -- the cats all vie for my attention, one or two by left arm, one or two by right and one or two sitting on my chest but the dogs want me to get up and let them outside!

And Jillian, a guy I work with recently got a mouthpiece that holds his jaw forward while he sleeps, he says his wife is very happy that he doesn't snore anymore!

and do you wake up feeling like your have arthritis in every one of your joints?  i do...when my cats and dog cuddle with me (two on my lap) one on each side...i tend not to move so i don't disturb them but after awhile i get so stiff ... then, when i do move, my one cat in particular, gives me such a look as if to say "how dare you move me! " ...  yes, we all know who runs this household

Of course my black furry man sleeps with me!

He will usually keep my side of the bed warm and then moves over when I am ready to lay down.

In the morning, he moves back to my side when I get up to make coffee!

my sleeping space, too, gets a little tight with an 80lb labrador and (occassionally) a cat sleeping in my twin sized bed with me. thankfully they take turns sleeping in my roommate's bed, too. my favorite is probably levi, my lab, bounding into bed and laying on me when i won't scoot over or waking me up by flopping on top of me!

We sleep on a King Size bed with a 9yr old German Shepherd over 100 lbs. A 1 yr old German Shepherd about 70 lbs. And we just got a puppy which right now isn't sleeping with us. But we think he is a Newfoundland or Newfie mix. He gets on the bed with us in the morning after he has gone outside first. He already is about half the size of our 1 year old. So he will be sleeping with us after he is housetrained. If the Shepherds get too warm they get down and sleep by the bed. we have slept with our dogs for over 13 years

Our dog doesnt sleep with us....he is way to restless...he is very comfy in his kennel. Sometimes the cats will grace us with their presence and lay on my legs. When they do that i dont move either, i dont want to disturb them! I get stiff on those nites as well.

Sounds like some of us need more than king-sized beds - me included

my big bloke sleeps where ever he pleases and I don't argue with him - but my question is why can't he stretch vertically and not horizontally across the bed

Haha! My malamute will sometimes join me on the bed (king-sized!) but my rottie prefers to sleep in the bathtub and snore. Something about the cool porcelin and accoustics no doubt *wink*. The cats occasionally join me on the bed when they're not chasing each other around the house during the night, but they usually only prowl for any moving feet under the covers = )

Stella either sleeps in the bed or under, depending on how many bad guys I'm fighting in my sleep. I don't sleep well when she isn't in the room with me!

Hi I'm new on here, and wanted to add that my whippet often sleeps with me, my scotty doesn't. But, he sleeps near me here in our condo, at our home in NC, he usually sleeps on his own bed. Sadie my whippet gets up and down and sometimes sleeps on the sofa. So, my nights are not very well slept. But, I dearly love my two and would not trade them for anything! BTW, my husband and I do not sleep together,  he snores too loudly!! I can put up with my dogs ( my family members) getting up and down, making grunts, etc.  Just wanted to add my own situation with my beloved pets.

Let's see if you can tell if my animals sleep in my bed. I have a king size bed and wake up like a pretzel.

From the dogs Frank??

I too have the king size bed, which is good since Unc likes to stretch out

Blu will get up in the bed for a few minutes but prefers to sleep on the floor or one of the leather couches (cooler I guess)

Sampson also sleeps on the bed, normally on the pillow over my head

I let one of my Mals in the bed once and got very aggressive behavior when I tried to get him to move over. No more bed for him!!!!

The other Mal is very cuddly and uses my chest for a pillow. He's not a problem except in one recent thunderstorm. He spent the night pacing. On the bed! Up his side of the bed, crossed the bed by stepping on my chest (ouch! oof!) and then went down my side of the bed and then crossed back over to his side stepping on me some more (ouch! oof! ! @$#!! dog!!) Over and over all night. I was never able to wake enough to throw him off the bed and out of the room. I only woke just enough to say ouch! oof! all night.

The husky can take it or leave it. If I start petting her too much with my feet, then she leaves.

For as long as I can remember Ive always shared my bed with my dogs, although Chloe is the only one that sleeps with me now, Rudy sleeps on a soft blanket by the bed. Also Gizmo, my cat, sleeps at the foot of the bed most nights.
