I wanted to see what kind of answers I would get to complete the topic sentence… I know we all see the emails that circulate, the same ones for the past several years – letters to the dog, letters from the cat, etc.

I figure we could create our own list, based on life as we know it.  I’ll start, feel free to add!

You know you are owned by a cat (or cats) when…

You inspect the insides of your shoes each morning, looking for lost treats or “cleverly hidden” toys, especially after the toys have had their swim in the water bowl.  You believe this is a normal part of everyone’s morning routine.

Before you fix/eat a meal yourself cat bowls are washed (heaven forbid they aren't spotless), filled AND delivered to impatiently waiting felines. Should you dare  to do otherwise you are mobbed  and/or told of your transgression until you see the error of your ways.

...when you set up your fishtank on a table, not a stand, to provide perfect seating all the way around for your cat's viewing pleasure.

You know you are owned by a cat when...

...during this economic pinch, you switch to Ramen noodles and your cat is still eating high quality holistic.

...you tell your cat to stay off the counters but 20 minutes later you see her asleep in the still warm frying pan and let her be

You go visit your neighbor 3 houses down and your cat finds you by entering the neighbor's house through their cat door, then proceeds to walk back and forth between you and the door, meowing at the top of his lungs, until you finally see reason and return home where you belong!!!!

YOU KNOW YOU"RE OWNED BY A CAT.... When your husband sleeps in the other bedroom so you can have more room in your bed for the cats!!

You know you're owned by a cat when you're late to meet a friend for coffee because the cat was snoozing on your lap and you didn't want to disturb her...

You know you're owned by a cat when.....

you purchase a closed in cabinet for your TV so that your cats can sit on top of it

your friends with a 3 year old and a 1 year old compliment you, who have no children of your own, on how well you child-proofed your home

all your bird feeders are strategically placed in front of windows with gat pedestals

you finally give up on the battle of the fur and just accept being kknown as The Furry One at work
