Any good suggests on house training ??  I have a puppy he is now 6 months. I got him when he was 11 weeks and the second time he went out on a leach he broke his leg. so for the past 10 weeks he had to stay in no running / walking / jumping. He uses the papers and has always been really good with it. but now how do I start so many weeks later ? I am just now starting to get him use to the out side. I let him out in the yard for a half hour at a time, put some used papers out. but nothing.  He comes in and runs right to his papers in the house. If you have any suggests I would appreciate it.

You can start moving the papers slowly towards the door you use to get him out. Then right on the other side of the door, moving it to where you ultimately want him to go. Do it slowly, Lets see what happens.

Thanks for your respond. I would love to try this but unfortunately there's 2 carpeted rooms between the papers and the door. I've trained puppies before and never had this kind of trouble with it. putting the papers outside always worked in the past. I just dont know what to do at this point.

Putting the papers out is good- but this time, go out with the dog, on leash.  No playing, exploring, etc, just hang out for a few minutes and wait for him to go.  If he goes, give him a "good dog!" and a treat, and then go have some fun- explore, play, take a walk, whatever.  If he doesn't go, back into the crate for him, and try again in half an hour.  Repeat.  Once you've had some success on the papers, go to the same area, but  this time there are no papers.  Same process- keep dog on leash and no fun until business is done.  If you have one area of the yard you'd like to use, by all means start with the papers there, then transition them out.  You can also reduce the amount of paper gradually, making the transition easier, but many dogs don't need that intermediate step.  Keep the leash on and continue to reinforce going in the right spot for a week after the doing is going reliably the first time you take him out- he may not need it, but an investment now can reduce the potential for problems later, and you've got nothing to lose (except your time of course!)  Then you can start allowing the dog to go with you, offleash, same process.  Then start hanging back so dog goes on  his own.  Voila!
