| Just wondered if there were any boxer owners out there? If so, what are their ages and personalities. | | | |

| Is that your first boxer? Any problems with him? Any others in the household? I have 2, an 11 1/2 and 9 1/2 yrs. My daughters has 2 from the same litter, they are 3 years old. | | | |

| We have a 7-year-old male (neutered) that is quite a handful. Davis is such a mess but we love him! He thinks he's a person. He is my second boxer to own - our first, JEB, died of a brain tumor when he was 5. My husband's family always had boxers while he was growing up, along with standard poodles (which is what I had growing up). I don't know if I'll ever have another breed than a boxer. They are such fun and keep their "puppiness" forever! | | | |

| | I have a 10-month old Boxer(still intact) that is absolutely great. Jake was my first puppy and my first Boxer. I did quite a bit of reading about the breed before I picked him up. I took him to puppy training as soon as he had all his shots to get him accustomed to my expectations. He's eager to please and is a favorite with all the humans and most of the dogs. I'm fortunate to be a member of Congressional Cemetery where Jake spends over 3 hours a day playing with his Black Lab buddy Kirby. Without that highly exhausting workout, he would be a handful. I keep him crated during the day while I'm at work at it seems to be working fine. Up until several weeks ago I had a walker that would take him out during the day. Everything that I've read about Boxers have pretty much been accurate, lots of exercise, love, consistent routine, training and more exercise! My only concern right now is, when I take him to the park he potties(#2) about 6 times during the course of an hour. I'm not sure if that's normal for a puppy. Does anyone else have that issue? I finally found a dog food that keeps his stool solid(Canidae). | | | |

| Maybe that walker coming to take him out while once a day while you're working would make it easier on his system. You know, kinda lighten the load on his bowels, | | | |

| | I've had 7 boxers throughout my life and never heard of that. Did you ask the vet. If you have a good vet you should be able to call the office without making an appointment and the vet of office personnel should have an answer. They are a wonderful breed. I happened to get my first one from a cousin who was not able to keep him and that was the beginning of my love affair with them. They are absolutely wonderful with children, whether it's an infant , toddler or teen, they are GREAT. My daughter has a 9 month old baby and two 3 year old boxers and the baby lays on top of them and crawls over them and they love it. I've had boxers growing up and throughout the lives of my daughters. I don't think I could ever be without atleast two. Good luck and enjoy!!! | | | |

| Sorry to hear about JEB, that is way too young to lose one. I've lost 2 to cancer, one was 6 and the other was 7. I was treating one of them with chemo for about 5 months, the vet I had at that time told me that it might buy him a year or so. Unfortunately it only bought him about 5 months. You're right about them keeping their "puppiness" forever...I've heard them called Peter Pan because they never grow up. They are a wonderful addition to the family and are terrific with kids of all ages, infants, toddlers, teens. | | | |

| Hi! We have a boxer puppy - our first. Her name is Sissy and she's 4 months old. She's adorable. She's the little sister to her older sister, Magic a rescued Weimaraner, and Jethro, a rescued Springer Spaniel, and her kitty friends. This breed is really full of energy aren't they??? | | | |

| She sounds adorable! Yes, they are full of energy and you'll find out how devoted and attached she will get to you. My 9 year old still wants to play for hours, drives us crazy if we try to watch a movie or program. He constantly brings us one of his many toys and either whines or barks at us to throw the ball for him. Not a good idea to allow him to do that, we let him dictate to us when he was a puppy and now we have to be realy stearn with him when we don't want to play....of course he ends up winning the battle!! They are kind of stubborn but they definately want to please you. My two are right next to me here while I'm sending this, they will be your shadow. Good luck with her and be sure to let me know how she is doing. It sounds as though you have a house full - there's nothing like a four legged 'best friend'!!! | | | |

| I have a beautiful 3 year old female boxer named Ali. She is just like a child to me. It amazes me the amount of love and energy my girl has. She comes to work with me on Saturdays and everyone is here for her. She is my first dog and I can not imagine having any other breed | | | |

| I've heard that said by boxer owners before...that they can't imagine ever having another breed. Some dog owners that have had other breeds before and then a boxer have said that as well. I know we are all partial to our favorite breed but boxers are one of a kind. They do have an abundance of love and energy, almost like having a toddler around. And they are quite the character - heard them described as 'clowns' --- they sometimes are and often make me laugh! | | | |

| We now have our 4th boxer a 4 yr. old male named Ike and are getting our 5th on Thurs. a 1 year old (name to be determined), they have all been wonderful dogs and I would be hard pressed to ever get another breed. They just look at you like "I know you love me" "Everybody loves me" and they are so comical, just need an alpha dog figure to keep them in line. Ours is crated all day and out at night and has no problems. Loves to run and jump. | | | |

| Did you have him since he was a puppy? Is he a fawn or brindle? I have one of each. | | | |

| | My boxer is our first, and can't imagine raising two. Oh my goodness he rules this house. When we got him I decided to bell train him, Oh Boy, From the time we come home, wheather he has to go potty or not he slams this cow bell. Drives us crazy. He was only in a crate for about a month when we were gone. Never was in the crate when we were home. Caught on to the bell quickley. The only thing now is, it is a big cow bell and now he is around 80 lbs. and really slams the bell. To go out a play, go potty, or maybe just being nosie. He has a red ball ( Hard plastic) he chases every minute he is outside and is actually obsessed with it. So therefore he rings the bell at least 100 times a day. I'm not sure what he would do with his bell because that has been his only means of telling us he wants to go outside for whatever. | | | |

| Is that your guy, Storm? He's really a nice looking boy. I had a Sunny and Stormy, they were brothers and Sunny was fawn and Stormy was brindle. My brother had 2 ( still has one) and their names were Butch and Sundance and my daughter has 2 also, Cooper and Logan. They are pretty big boys, about 75 and 80 lbs. My 9 1/2 yr. old is about 86 lbs. and my 11 1/2 is 75 lbs. My older one, Cody is on heart medicine and has arthritis, he's starting to lose some muscle mass. Casey is on allergy medicine and I've gone thru tests, shots and several different prescriptions for him from his allergist. It's a constant battle but whatever I can do to make him stop itching and chewing is worth it. I'm always worried about Cody because of his age and I've only had 2 other dogs that lived to 12 yrs. He is my shadow. Out of the 7 boxers I've had he is like a mother hen when it comes to children and is just like a four legged person. They (ofcourse) are all smart but this guy actually thinks and can read my mind half the time. He also has separation anxiety and gets very upset when I leave. It's getting worse as he gets older. He doesn't destroy anything but just gets upset and is distressed when I'm not home. They are so entertaining and sooo demanding at times. It sounds as though Storm is very well trained. I told my daughter about what you wrote - that he rings the bell at least 100 times a day. That's really funny.....! | | | |

| I researched boxers when we got Storm, I was really worried about the separation anxiety when we left. What I read was when you leave the house do not say good-bye, and when you return don't say anything for a few minutes. Since he was a puppy that is what we have done and it seems to work so far. If my husband don't let him go outside to play red ball, of course after he rings his bell several times, Storm will find a hat or something of my husbands and chew it up. He has never chewed anything big, or anything of mine. Storman is just to funny!!! | | | |
