i recently used BioPet Vet Lab’s DNA Breed Identification Test and was very confused/disappointed with the results. I swear my mixed breed dog Winfield is probably 1/2 rottie and maybe some beagle/hound/cattle dog. These are the  breeds they detected in my dog,  listed in order of prevalence, with the most prevalent breed listed first.

Miniature Schnauzer

Unidentified

Poodle

has anyone had a similar experience??

hi scott..

i've never had to us a DNA for anything...but i have known others that had bred to two different studs so to register the litter they had to have each puppy tested so the stud could be recorded...ended up there were 6 puppies-4 of one sire 2 of the other...

its hard to tell from the photos you have-how big Winfield really is. But having had the MINI Schnauzer listed first you would think he would be on the smaller side...

you can't go by the coat color or look  of a dog when you have a mixed breed either. most dogs that are cross bred with poodles-you would never guess a poodle was their breed.

with all the hoopla about 'designer breeds'-if i were you i would just say Winfield is that! no matter what he is, he is CUTE!

I just did the dna test on my mix, I did the blood test ( much more pricey) but this is way more acurate. Supposedly it gives you like a 10 page report( maybe not needed) It's recommended by vets as well as the AKC, When the results come in, I will share.
