Just would like to hear from other Pom lovers. I adore this breed. Out of all the different breeds we've had this one is my favorite. Very loving, snuggly little dogs. I couldn't ask for a better companion. And after raising three boys, I finally have my girl!

WE TOO LOVE THIS BREED, WE LOST OUR ITSY TO THE BAD DOGFOOD AND IT BROKE OUR HEARTS. WE WERE NOT SURE WE WANTED TO GET ANOTHER ONE AS ONE PET DOESN'T REPLACE ANOTHER. BUT AS LUCK AND GOOD WILL WILL HAVE IT OUR GRANDDAUGHTER GOT US A MALE BLACK AND WHITE EIGHT WEEK OLD LIVING DOLL. WE NAMED HIM PANDA, HE IS SO SMART AND SO LOVING, I WILL BE GLAD TO SHARE SOME PICS WHEN I HAVE TIME TO UPLOAD THEM. YOU WOULD LAUGH REALLY OUT LOUD IF YOU WERE TO SEE THIS TINY GUY RUNNING MY PIT AROUND, [ WE HAVE NEVER ALLOWED EARL TO BE AS SO MANY PITBULL OWNERS DO ] I REALLY THINK PANDA IS TRAINING US INSTEAD OF THE OTHER WAY AROUND. GIVE YOUR BABY A HUG ON US, BONNIE

Sorry to hear you lost Itsy due to bad dog food. But it's good to hear you have another one to love. I love having a dog arpund. It's just to quiet without one. And they are always so happy to see you when you come home. I don't leave Emee home very often, she cops an atitude and gives me that sad look after going thru all her tricks to entice me to take her. She knows she can work me! LOLI know what you mean when it comes to little dog versas big dog. She will tease & tease Rags to where Rags can't ignore her. Actually she won't let anyone ignore her. She's spoiled rotten, I admit it, but she's my spoiled rotten baby. And we don't care what anyone says! LOL
Here's belly rubs for your loveys......()()()()()

I became attached to this breed about 21years ago. I was on a ski vacation in New Mexico. After a day of skiing, I was in a shopping mall and I saw a fuzzy little head bouncing out of the top of a basket in a pet store. I stopped in and asked the lady in the pet store what breed this was. She told me Pomeranian. She asked me if I would like to purchase the dog. I replied that I was on vacation and It would be better if I located one when I returned home.  When I returned home I started searching and located my Maggie I have been hooked on Pomeranians ever since. I had her for 14 years and she passed away. I found I couldn't go without  my Pom and I now have had Prissy for 7 years.

I'm looking forward to a lot of happy years with Emee. It just amazes me that something so small can give so much love! But true to their nature as well, they think they are bigger than they are. Had a large dog dumped at our home and Emee went nuts. She wanted to tear it to ribbons!. They really don't realize how truly small they are.....LOL She definitely protects her territory. Rags also got in the fray to protect Emee. Emee is her baby. Rags has never had babies, but Emee seems to be her baby. She makes sure she stays clean and reprimands her when she's bad. Emee just literally terrorizes RAgs and teases the dickens out of her, which for the most part RAgs tolerates. Rags seems mainly draw to my husband. They do things outside together. Emee is more my companion. So it works out well in the evenings. Rags up in the chair with hubby and Emee in mine with me. What a life...........
Enjoy hearing from everyone and stories of their poms. Hope to continue the chats.....
Hugs & kisses to all our fur babies...

I know what you mean about Poms thinking they are bigger than they are. My other favorite breed is Labs, & Prissy  wants to tear them up when she sees them.  There is a special trate of Poms that I love. It is how they seem to bond to a one person over everyone else. My first Pom Maggie was very attached to me. If I left her with someone for vacation she would sit by their door waiting for me to return and would not do anything else. It did make it dificult to think about her waiting for me when I traveled.

I am told when I leave Emee with anyone, she will howl like a wolf. A very long, mournful howl that goes on forever! Oh my.........LOL......... Which makes it really hard to leave her with anyone.

I have spent the last two weeks attempting to clip Emee's nails. Have managed to get a few of them, but not all. Now she's decided she's having none of that business. So off to the Vet's for a pedicure yesterday. It's pretty sad when it takes 2 people to clip a 2 lb 10ozs' nails. Have I mentioned she's onery & spoiled.........LOL. But love her to death anyway! And she has pretty feet now.

It's way to quiet out there. I know there are pom galore around the states. Love this breed, Love their owners! Emee has gained 2 ozs since last vet visit. Hubby says it's all from the hair. She's finally starting to come out of her puppy uglies and look like a real pom. I'll be taking her to Illinois again in the next couple of weeks. We go to visit my mother in the assisted living complex. The ladies there just love Emee. The line up for the kisses they know they will get. She has become the star of the complex and is known by all who live there, as well as viistors. Here at home I take Emee & Rags both to the nursing home. They seem to know where they're going & can't wait to get there. And the know exactly which room to go to for their visit. My Gran loves having them & doesn't like to share them..............LOL LOL LOL The rat terrir was Gran's constant companion while she lived with us anad misses her. Rags being older has more of the quiet quality. She just jumps up on Gran's bed, snuggles down next to Gran & goes to sleep. Emee of course likes to play & give those kisses. What person doesn't like those kisses.
Tell me about your Pom/Poms and their adventures..................

Hi, I too love Poms...I have 3, all from people who didn't want them.

My first one Nikki, a give away is a very high class Pom, and I assumed could have been shown, except she has what is called a flat coat.  She is extremely full coated though.  The other two, Hally and Abagail were posted on a bulletin board for $25.00 a piece.

My girlfriend called me about them, and wanted to go with me to look at them.  I figured I would maybe get one or none.  I took them both because they were in deplorable condition.  Shaved, filthy, sores from fleas, not mistreated physically, but mentally.  Had a german shepherd size self feeder out on a non heated closed- in porch with a dirty pillow to sleep on.  Not allowed on the furniture and no people food.

They are flea free, clean, family, and happy.  Although they do not look like the poms usually pictured, I love them, and don't care about their breeding.  I didn't get them for their looks, or to breed,  just couldn't leave them!

Of, course, it was a wise decision.

It's nice to hear from other pom mommas. Sorry I haven't been back on sooner. I have been out town visiting my mother in Illinois. Rescued dogs make the best companions. They are so grateful, usually, to have a safe place to call home and love to go with it. So Good for You in rescueing those babies. I visit a lot of rescue sights and read the stories that bring tears to your eyes. Makes me very angry how some people treat their dogs. In my opinion, they should be treated the same way. I could rant all day on that, but will spare you!
We also have a rat terrier. It's hiliarous to watch the two play together. It's inexpensive entertainment...........lol I now have toys everywhere. Just like when our sons were growing up.....lol
Have a Great Day All!

Have a Question for you: Anyone out there have an opinion on taking your small pet into stores with you, as long as they are contained & it isn't a store with fresh or open containers of food?

I can't believe no one has an opinion or been kicked out of store for having their pet with them! And yes, I have been kicked out of a small discount store for having my 2 1/2 lb pom in my arms. Anyone else?

Note: I do not take her to grocery stores or restaurants, not places with fresh or open containers of food!
