Mid morning I got a call from a vet tech at Tufts, she said Tango was doing OK, and the pains meds were keeping him comfortable. He is drinking plenty of water, but still has not eaten anything since Monday afternoon...she asked me if I was able to get there and try to see if I could get him to eat. I told her if she gives him some cooked chicken , beef or cheese he probably would start to eat. Because of where Tufts is in MA, and me being on the island, there wouldn't have been enough time for me to get there and be back today. I had to call upon yet another AA member today Prince200 (Bill) is the closest to Tufts where Tango is now (about 45 miles) Bill dropped what he was doing, went to the grocery store, picked up 2 cooked de-boned chickens, roast beef and cheese (Tango's favorite foods) drove to Tufts, and sat in Tangos ICU room/crate (what-ever it is) and try to coax him to eat for 45 minutes. Bill took some pics of Tango while he was there and emailed them to me early this evening. Tango wouldn't eat for him, but left some in his bowl, maybe Tango will eat it later. And now there is 2 tupperwares of chicken in the fridge for Tango if he does start eating.... The in-house vet called me late this afternoon and said Tango is comfortable, and because he has an ear infection, they have to figure out what the next step is.....they are concerned with any kind of infection, even an ear, when they are planning to do such an invassive surgery. The orthopedic surgeon will call me either tomorrow or monday, but there plans are, hoping now for a wednesday surgery. His pre-surgery bloodwork today came back fine, but the ear infection has now caused a concern This is when I hate living on an island, because I can't just get in my car and go, spend time with Tango and drive home .....Bill said the nurses there are great, and he is in good hands there, and being well taken care of. I am so fortunate for the firends I have made on this website. Thanks for being here for me. I love you guys....
