| | Hi all just wanted to tell you about a great show on Animal Planet coming up. I wish I could send a picture with this. Here is our press release:
Local Rescue Pups to Appear on The Animal Planet Puppy Bowl
Some happy, playful local rescue pups participated in The Animal Puppy Bowl to be televised on Animal Planet. The day’s activities were set against a football field backdrop and included the usual puppy wrestling, tug of war and lots of running around with no specific goal in sight. Friendly referees assessed puppy penalties for personal fouls and other violations. All in all, a day full of fun puppy festivities.
The ANIMAL PLANET PUPPY BOWL will premier Sunday, February 6, 3-6 PM (ET) with encore presentations at 6 PM, 9 PM and 12 AM (ET) only on Animal Planet.
“How exciting it is for us to see these pups, who went from not knowing whether they would find a home, to being TV stars and all on their way to new, loving forever homes. Nothing is more entertaining than to watch a bundle of puppies run around and play puppy games. This is a break from the Super Bowl play you will not regret,” said Hot Water Rescue’s Virginia representative Susanne Kogut.
"The Puppy Bowl offers everything an animal lover could want: it's educational, entertaining and at the same time reminds its viewers that there are adorable puppies who need homes. We are grateful to Animal Planet for this opportunity -- we feel like our little pups won the lottery, and we know it will encourage people to consider adopting from shelters and animal welfare groups!" -- Susan Whalton, director of Hedgesville Hounds.
THE ANIMAL PLANET PUPPY BOWL is a production of Discovery Production Group. Local Dog trainer Miriam Fields-Babineau assisted with the production.

Rescue pups participating in the event were from non-profit groups serving the Northern Virginia, Maryland and DC metropolitan area: Hot Water Rescue (Alexandria, VA), Hedgesville Hounds (Rockville, MD), WhiskersnWags (Fredericksburg, VA) and Virginia German Shepherd Rescue (Sterling, VA). These groups are dedicated to finding precious homeless animals new loving families, encouraging owners to treat their animal companions as loving family members and to spay and neuter their pets.
