Do Beagle's tend to have more upset tummies than other dog's. Lilly eats grass almost every day. Does any one know of any Beagle puppies being given away in the Northern Va. area?

Hi there, If your dogs not getting sick from eating the grass don't worry about it. Some dogs just love grass. I had a dog that could clear a small from yard and never get sick. And as far as puppies you might want to check with the beagle rescue there is one in this area and this is the time of year they may be overloaded. Good luck

Don't know if Beagles have sensitive tummies - but make sure you keep up with parasite preventatives and that no pesticides are on the grass. Don't know of any Beagles in NoVa, but have you checked the Beagle rescue sites? and of course, put yourself on the lists at the shelters for when a pup comes in.

Dear Lillyanne - Is your question about Lilly showing signs of an upset somach or about eating grass? Does she throw up or otherwise exhibit symptoms of an upset stomach? Be careful with whatever goes into your dog's stomach - pesticides and parasites are in the grass. Are all her shots up to date? Is she on flea/tick preventatives purchased from a veterinarian? (The stuff purchased over the counter can be exceedingly dangerous to dogs and cats.) Lilly can get parvo and many other illnesses from eating things off the ground. Get her checked out by a vet if her stomach is upset.

All three of my Beagles eat grass. I think they just like it. One of my Beagles has an extremely sensitive stomach. I should have done this all along, but now I know to never switch her food or give her table scraps. She also has to remain on-leash when we go on walks because I don't know what she'll get into if out of my sight. I also suspect that she might be getting sick from eating "grubs" dug up in the backyard. I don't know how to stop her from doing this-- any ideas?

To the person who asked about Beagle pups looking for a home. I have a beagle who just turned 1, who is looking for a new home in the Northern Virginia area. I have a couple apps so that may work out but let me know if you are interested. Prince, the beagle, is posted on www.hotwaterrescue.com.
