He is a 4 yr. old cock-a-poo, and very needy.  I am a stay at home mom, and he gets LOADS of attention.  However, he seems to have a fetish for eating nonfood items like paper and clothes(socks, underwear, bathing suits, tshirts, pants--clean or dirty).  Even if we don't leave anything lying around he will knock over bins to get at them.  I am mainly concerned for his health, and secondly how in the world to get him to STOP the MADNESS!  Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Does he have his own toys? Do you take him for walks he may need to burn of some energy. I have two dogs, one likes socks and the other likes underwear! That's all they get into. I can leave other stuff around except those items. I just put them away so they can't get to them. I ask their trainer what to do? She said put the items where they can't get to them. I was like no kidding, big help she was! I wanted to know why!! So I make sure they have plenty of toys and exercise and that has seemed to calm theme down some. Good luke.

The unsupervised dog needs to be crated. The supervised dog needs to be obedience trained. We need to help the dog to succeed.

Hey we're about in the same boat. My 9 month Maltese/Yorkie not only eats his own poopie but he eats my other dogs poopie as well. I feel your pain. We've tried everything! If you have advise for us let me know. As for your dog, I always thought if they had alot of toys they would leave your other stuff alone. My dog was chewing our furniture until we bought him some rawhide which seemed to deter him from the furniture. Good luck. Try the rawhide.
