Help!!!! my 2 year old pit mix has always been a handful (which is why he ended up with me) but with all of his destruction and enthusiasm there is one thing I cannot keep dealing with. He has a habit of jumping through windows (for cats, flies, or maybe just the breeze blowing) He is not aggressive, has a big fenced yard, gets lots of walks. But he has broken 4 floor to ceiling windows in my home and I cannot figure out how to stop this. I have place furniture in front of the windows (doesnt work), have tried training and sitting calmly at the window (nope), have used negative reinforcement in the form of a squirt bottle (no). I am at my wits end, the only option I am thinking is to put bars on the windows so he cant get to the glass.

I know this is gonna sound strange but a friend of mine had an issue with her dog breaking windows Not the big ones like u are talking about but he would go threw the regular ones he got cut a few times but thankfully nothing to bad she didnt have a fortune to spend {can't blame her since she had to keep getting windows fixed} so what she did that worked was went out and bought those window tints that are mirrored the ones that u suppost to put up so people cant see in but u can see out .. she put that on BACKWARDS so that the mirror part was in the house { she really didnt care that it looked odd just that it worked from gettting the dog not to go threw the windows it's been 3 yrs and the dog has never went threw it again { The dog can't see the outside so he doesn't run at the window... once and a while he barks at himself but other then that she has had good luck it didnt cost a whole lot and fixed the problem. { by the way she can look out the window but she has to go right up to it and it looks kinda tinted } Not sure if u want to do something like that but maybe try it before u put out all the moeny to get bars on the windows .

Hope this helps

That is an Excellent idea! How clever. This one's going in my library just in case any adopters have this problem.
