My Aussie, Sophie, was diagnosed with Stage 2 Fibrosarcoma in May. At 9 years old, she was about to lose her life.  She had a golf ball sized tumor sprout up overnight. She is my best friend and family, and I would not lose her to cancer. My vet removed the tumor, but,because of the nature of it, we were referred to an oncologist. We now have a wonderful support group, but the cost is astronomical. $1500 for staging-X-Rays, Ultrasound, and the PLAN. She needed 16 radiation treatments. The cost varies from $4500-up. I was approved for $1800 from Care Credit, I had a grant for $500.00 from the DCC Fund, awesome people. I thank them everynight. I still need to come up with the balance-about $2400.00. She has never whimpered-she is on no pain pills. The vet is amazed-She has finished 16 radiation treatments and has a check-up in 2 weeks. (All fingers, toes, and paws crossed for the best news.)  I would not let Cancer the Beast take her without a fight!!
