The state of Pennsylvania has introduced a bill that would help put an end to several of the incredibly cruel practices practiced by puppy mill owners.  This information was posted on dogster.com's blog.

House Bill 2525 is now out of Committee and is on its way to the House floor for vote. This is the puppy mill law, and it is CRITICAL that you call your PA state Representative (not federal). Calling carries more weight than email.

If you don’t know your representative, go to this site and (top right corner) enter your 5-digit zip code plus the 4-digit extension. Ask them to support HB 2525.

This is the bill we’ve been waiting for to help reduce the number of dogs in puppy mills and end suffering.  For full bill details, please see dogster.com's blog For the Love of Dog Blog and please, take action either by calling your representative or forwarding this information to anyone you know who lives in Pennsylvania.

If I lived in PA, I would be more than happy to do this... I just emailed my senators here in WV to please support any legislation to stop this craziness. I just read the book " A Rare Breed of Love" the true story of Baby and the mission she inspired to help dogs everywhere. EVERY dog lover should read this book. Eyes need to be opened to the way these poor "puppy mill" dogs are treated. I cryed and cryed when I read how the mothers are treated. PLEASE, if you want a puppy, or a new dog, consider adoption, but never get a pet store puppy. They are probably from a puppy mill.
