Hi, my name is Sheila and Im an animal lover and defender. Most of you know me for my big clan (Two kitties, one Great Dane, a cute mutt and a fish tank), but now I need your help. In Old San Juan, about 300,000 years ago, the Spaniards brought cats over to help control the rat colonies and ever since then, they have lived there peacefully. Now their lives are in danger since the Health Dept. missed Biology 101 and are planning to take away (and dispose off=kill) the cats. If this were to happen rats will take over again imagine! Anyways, all these cats that are consiudered a problem are actually part of an organization called Save a Gato (gato is cat in spanish) and are all vaccinated and sterilized, also are taken care off and put for adoption. Please alert anyone you think might be of assistance, we need signatures to preven this from happening!!!!

I was in Old San Juan just a few months back and as I wandered the streets and shopped, I saw ALOT of stray dogs also on the streets...this broke my heart,  I wanted to scoop them all up and take them back to my hotel.   Where is the help for all of these animals??
