I was almost caught up in one of the recent scams going around these days, but since i've heard about this type of scam before, i told the sender no thank you. Then i started to wonder about the real victim. I'm pretty sure that just about everybody these days has heard about the scam where you're selling something , the buyer sends you a larger check than the cost of the item, you send back the difference and the item or in my case a third party courrier was to pick up the item and the difference and be on their way. The check you've gotten ends up being bad, the bank comes after you. Long story short. But in this case a puppy was to be involved. I've been breeding hybrids for 23 years, I might have one litter a year, some years none, I let the pack and nature decide [this is not intended to start a controversy about hybrids but to alert any animal breeder to the horrible possible outcome]. I never ship an animal and always meet the potential buyers, they're getting one of my kids so i want to know where they are going and to whom. I've been emailing a man[?] about purchasing one of the two remaining pups in a recent litter and altho things seemed normal he was avoiding the offer to visit the farm and meet me, which i explained was going to happen since i did not ship. Then the email this am, it said that he wanted the puppy, no more ?'s and that he would be sending a courrier to pick up the pup and the difference in funds once i receieved his check. WHOO STOP. He never got my address or the pup. But what happens to the pup if I fell for that? Do they just throw them out the car window as they drive away. Where do all the animals end up that get sold that way. It's chilling to think of their fate. So please be aware of scams and be responsible sellers, an animals life may be involved. |
