| Come to a Meeting to Support the HSAC Shelter |
The City of Atlantic City filed an application to have the twenty acre tract of land around and including the Humane Society of Atlantic County Animal Shelter (HSAC) declared “An Area in Need Of Redevelopment”. This is an attempt to seize the property which houses the high-volume, low-cost spay and neuter clinic that serves all cats including ferals. The work of this clinic has been critical to the success of Alley Cat Allies' Boardwalk program - allowing for the spaying and neutering of hundreds of cats. If this passes, the Humane Society of Atlantic County would be left without a clinic. We continue to count on their services and urge advocates to attend this meeting to show their support. The Atlantic City planning Board meeting is scheduled for:
Wednesday September 3, 2008 at 10am
Atlantic City, City Hall
Council Chambers – Room 206
1301 Bacharach Blvd., Atlantic City NJ Advocates will be gathering in the Humane Society of Atlantic County's parking lot and carpooling to the Planning Board's meeting because of parking constraints around city hall. Meet at the Humane Society of Atlantic County, 1401 Absecon Blvd., Atlantic City, at 9:00am prior to the meeting (Map). The critical work of the clinic must continue. |
