This is a **WARNING**

There is an ANIMAL KILLER ON THE LOOSE IN TUCSON!! SOME SICKO KILLED MY NEPHEW'S CAT LAST EVENING.  Sylvester was chopped in half!  YES, IN HALF.

Sylvester was an INDOOR cat.  He got out by mistake.  When they (my 2 nephews and their father) went to look for Sylvester-they found him in back of house across the street.  The police said that this was NOT AN ACCIDENT.  Someone did this on purpose.

My sister and her family live near NORTH MIDNIGHT WAY in Tucson!

I never wanted my nephews to see the CRUEL side of humans.  **WHAT DO I DO TO TAKE AWAY THE PAIN THEY FEEL?**  **HOW DO I EXPLAIN THIS TO THEM??**

PLZ IF YOU LIVE NEAR MY SISTER--KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR PETS AND CHILDREN!

IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING--PLZ CONTACT THE POLICE.

Unfortunately this is a VERY common thing among gangs.  I have lived in the Phoenix area for over 15 years and do rescue and have heard it happening in Scottsdale, Apache Junction, Mesa, etc.  This is yet another reason people should not let their cats run free along with the MANY MANY other obvious reasons.  I realize this is not the case with your poor nephew and I am so sorry to hear this.  The same thing happened here about a month ago in Apache Junction.  They are looking for friendly cats.  They aren't doing this to strays.  They need a cat that will trust them.  I have heard so many people say "that wouldn't happen in my neighborhood, I know my neighbors."  It's never the neighbors, its people who cruise neighborhoods until they find a cat and sometimes a dog.  My heart goes out to your poor nephew.  How very very sad.

Thank you.  Both of my nephews are taking it really hard.  Yes, Sylvester was a friendly cat and that's what cost him his life.   They blame themselves for his death.

I just want to amke others aware of this.

I live in Tucson. I just heard about Sylvester on the news. I'm so very sorry for your nephews. What happened to him is horrible. I  sure hope they catch  the  cruel people who did that. I have a cat that is an indoor cat but she is always trying to get out. I rescued her from outside. so she still likes to be outside. But we always get her back in . I have 3 dogs. when they go outside we always have somebody go out with them. i don't trust leaving them by themselves in their own yard either. We live out of town,it's kind of a rural area. But I don't take any chances. Tell your nephews that I am so sorry that this happened. They will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about Sylvester. I wish I had words. It is never easy to loose a pet, but when it is this tragic it is even harder. I am completely horrified that someone would ever hurt an animal. I hope they are caught and procecuted. My heart aches for you and your nephews, and most of all for the suffering of Sylvester. You are in my prayers.

There was a story in the newspaper (?) a couple of years ago.  A person who has experience with guns, shot animals as he saw them--right where it counted.  All these animals were going to vets with bullets IN THE SAME PLACE.  I can't get into too much detail, but the shot was in the place to make them die slowly---if they were not taken to vets and euthanized.  I don't believe anything could be done about it (no proof, maybe, but I don't recall).  TRAGIC story...we have to try to keep pets indoors.  PS  Animals are considered personal property in this country, i.e., just like a TV set or car.  Nothing is ever attached to the family's misery, unfortunately.   I would tell as many authorities, animal agencies, etc., that you can....maybe laws will change.  Absolutely tragic.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who has posted a comment.  Your prayers and kind words have meant so much to us.  The boys are still having a tough time with Sylvester's death.  Andre seems to be taking it the hardest of all.

Again, THANK YOU

Mary

P.S.  There was another animal killing in the same place that they found Sylvester!~! **PLZ KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR CHILDREN AND PETS**

**WARNING ANOTHER ANIMAL KILLING YESTERDAY**

We spoke to my sister yesterday and there was another pet killing (I am not sure the exact date) but the TV station did a story on it yesterday.  This killing took place on the other side of town but the way inwhich the animal was killed was the same.

**PLZ, PLZ WATCH YOUR CHILDREN AND PETS**

THIS IS FELT TO BE GANG RELATED!~!

Reading stories like these makes me sick. I get so enraged towards those who commit the crime. I am sorry for your nephews loss. Unfortunately crimes on our animals are never taken as serious as those of humans, I wish they were though. I hope they find those sickos and cut them in half.
