Hi everybody we have a new several new members of the family. We were able to catch a whole litter of kittens that were sick. There was five but our neighbor got one, leaving us with 2 males and 2 females. We are nursing them back to health right now. I will be putting their pictures up on my profile very soon. Their names are Kitty (female) Cutey (female) Squeaker (male) and Wiley (male). So the grand total of cats that we have is 7!!!

I have a new dog. When I turned in Gabbs so he could go to Dog Town where he was adopted a few days later, I picked up a dog that I had had my eye on through PetFinder.com.

She is half-greyhound and this is her forever home. She was in the Pups Up for Paroe Program and they had named her Twister but when I got her home her markings were so similar to Brenya's markings that I thought Sister would be more appropriate. So Sister she became.

Brenya and Sister had some problems getting along at first but they have worked their way to a good sibling rivalry! Whatever toy one has the other wants. LOL It can be hilarious at times.

Both of my dogs were three time rejections. I am Brenya's fourth home. She has been with me for 7 years and 3 months. She is 8 years and 1 month old. Sister was picked up as a stray then adopted out then brought back a few months later and put into the PUP program I mentioned earlier. So when I adopted Sister, she had also had three previous homes.

I do not know what possesses people to get a dog then give them up as if they were a worn shirt but I have seen it before. To me when I take on a dog or cat iti is a forever thing.

My cats lived to be 16 and 18 years old. I still miss them but it was time to cross the Rainbow Bridge for them. I still miss them but i am happy with my dogs now and love them. I would never give up my dogs.

Ok, first of all, I have not been lounging on the beach...WISH I was...I've been moving... not fun at all......luckily, I am not the pack rat type...

so, the new house has a resident that has lived in it his entire life...and his owner did not want to upset/rock his world by moving him, so she asked if he could stay, and if I would adopt/take care of him.... ummm, okay, I guess... I just hope he gets along with Sampson.... because Edgar is...

a 1 1/2 year old bright blue beta fish  ..yup...which I found out after the arduous task of cleaning his tank... he survived the process and is now happily swimming about doing his little "fin dancing"  thing... and Sampson has seen him, sat on the same counter where his tank is, and has no interest in him whatsoever.... thank goodness... because I thought Sampson, like myself, would equate fish to fishstick ..but nope, Sampson is more of a live and let live kind of cheetoh...

pics up on the profile...

I have a new Westie...straight off the streets. Poor thing was a stray fluff that no one could catch for months in the neighborhood. Finally, she was lying in the grass next to the main road, and she let me pick her up. She's clean, happy, fed, brushed, vetted and really loves her two dog brothers.

If Elmo is approved for adoption, I will have a 1.5 male neutered Boston terrier to be Zima's little brother.

Yurimaru, a stray Westie! What a catch. Those are such adorable dogs. Will you keep him?

I am adopting an 8 year old grey tabby from the cat rescue where I volunteer. Her very devoted owner died of cancer and his wife dumped her at our shelter. She's been so unhappy in a cage. I've been trying to find her a home for weeks with no luck. So now she's staying in our guest bathroom. I'm doing the slowest integration with my other animals possible. I'm especially concerned about my cat Schmoiky accepting another cat. Sissie, the new cat, looks a lot like Schmoiky, which I think is fun.

I'm also fostering a golden brown tabby stray that another volunteer found. I'm getting attached to her and am worried about finding her the right home. I can tell that she thinks I'm her mommy now.

I just adopted a 1 year old black cat named Charlie from the cat rescue group where I volunteer. He'd been with another group and our group took him in trade back in January. He had been looking for his forever home for 6 months bytthe time I moved here and started volunteering! They tell me many people don't like black cats:(

He came into the family as a foster because I'd just lost my beautiful, wonderful Merlin (also a black cat)to a sudden illness, and he never went back to PetSmart. All my other cats are old (16, 12 and 12) so he's making their lives hectic ;) but he's a wonderful addition to our family.

I also fostered another kitty who found his forever home a week ago today.
