I have a foster cat in my care that needs a very special pet parent. His name is Rocky Balboa. Rocky was found near my home which is near a forest preserve (A.K.A. Dumping Ground); I believe that Rocky was dumped after the owner realized that he would need quit a bit of dental work done. Rocky had not eaten or even had any water in a while, and he was completely emaciated and dehydrated when he came to me. I brouhgt him to my vet and he had to have five teeth removed. He has cronic gingivitis and stomatitis (http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?articleid=368) and should have his teeth cleaned at least once or twice per year. He is between 8 and 10 years old but still plays like a kitten. He does NOT like other cats very much but will get along with them in time. He is currently living with five other cats and tolerates them. He is quite the lap cat which is a little surprising given his history. He loves to just hang out with me and watch TV. He has a healthy appetite now and always begs for human food which he does not get in this house except for a piece if cooked chicken or scrambled egg. He is eating and drinking well (I feed Nutro Natural Choice) You can see his picture at my profile or you can see his pic and bio at Pet Finder (http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=96931070) I should also mention that I will not allow him to be declawed. I volunteer with Fur Keeps Animal Rescue and our organization does not allow declaw. I am also firmly against declawing. |
