I rescued a 10 month old shepherd/saluki mix and am looking for a home for him. He is a very sweet dog .... he was running in the street when I found him ... I took him to the local humane society in case someone had lost him ... I told them if they didn't find the owner or if he wasn't adopted to call me. They found the owner (he is microchipped) but they said "they just don't want him anymore." The Humane Society called me and let me know that he was an owner surrender at that point. Then they called me the day before he was to be put down (they only keep them for (4) days!) and said that if I didn't adopt him he was going to be euthanized in the morning. I felt responsible since I am the one that put him there, so I went and adopted him.

I already have 3 dogs. He gets along great with all of them and he gets along with my horses and parrot too. He didn't know evn how to sit when I got him - he was a backyard dog that was never allowed in the house. He was easy to house train - it took only 1 day. I caught him in the act of peeing 2 times and yelled "no!!" and put him outside and he has not went to the bathroom in the house again. He is doing well going for rides in the car, and walks nicely on a leash, will sit on command, and is learning more everyday. He comes when called, and is my shadow at every opportunity.  He is going to be pretty tall - he is already 28 inches at the shoulder, and still growing. I don't think he will be a real heavy dog. I am not sure how well he would do with kids, so prefer for him to go to an adult home. Like I said - he had no socialization until I got him and his manners are getting better every day, but he can be a little mouthy at times - he is just playing but does not realize how hard he is biting. I correct him whenever he does it to me, but when he gets excited he does tend to grab your hand in his mouth in a playful way, but this would not be a good thing if he were to do this to a child that could not correct him.

Jeffry is a very sweet loving dog that deserves a forever home and someone that will love him and not let him waste away in a backyard with no attention being given to him. He is a great dog that is a quick learner and would be a wonderful companion. He is already neutered and microchipped and has had all his shots for this year.

If anyone is interested please don't hesitate to contact me.

Sorry it took so long to respond - my internet service was down for awhile.

Anyway - I am located in the Angeles Forest area of Santa Clarita, CA. I am about 20 miles east of the amusement park Magic Mountain.

His picture is in your "Den" right?  Any takers?  I would love him but I'm in Colorado.

Hopefully we find a good home for him soon .... I have had a couple of people express interest in him, but after asking some questions I decided that they wouldn't be a good match.

If I don't find the right person for him I won't give him up. I don't want to just give him to someone that I know won't work out and be a happy place for both.

Sorry I didn't respond to your post - it must have slipped by me.

Jeffry is getting so attached to us and loves it here so much I think we will just adopt him. It would be really hard to let him go now. I think it would have to be a very special person for me to even conssider it.

I guess I should put up a post saying he is no longer up for adoption.

Take care!
