We have recently picked up a stray cat. When we took it to the clinic to get it's Lukemia and Rabies shots they also tested it for feline A.I.D.S. The results came back positive a few days later. He is the sweetest cat and is very loving. He is about 4 years old. Black with a white chest and belly. Looks like a manecoon. He is fixed. We cannot keep him because of the other cats that we have. They are not so friendly and I don't want to risk them get into a fight. Right now the cat is and has been seperated from all of the others but can't stay that way for too much longer, it's just not fair to him. I would love to find it a good home.
Maybe some rescue groups know of other AIDS+ cats. AIDS cats can also live with dogs. Good luck.
Aids cats can infect other cats, but an AIDS cat with a dog is okay. AIDS cats can live together. I've heard of people having AIDS cats with non-AIDS cats--supposedly safe unless the regular cat is bitten. YIKES, who'd want to take the risk.
