Okay,

I know that most of us have met or known someone who has a really unusual name.  You know...the kind that you hear and you ask yourself "what were their parents thinking???"

What is the most unusual name you've heard?  For me, it was a girl with whom I went to high school.

Her name was Kinda Short (and she really was...kinda short).

Let's hear what you have....

Tam

Oh, I've seen a lot of weird names in my line of work (I microfilm medical records, among other things). Among the craziest names I've come across:
Pearly White
North E. West (and I remember thinking, "God, I hope 'E' doesn't stand for 'East'" )
someone whose first name was Knowledge (and thought, "Watch him be the dumbest kid on the block" )
someone whose first name was Tortilla

Clearly I've led a sheltered life because I've never had the pleasure of meeting people with such funny names! Thank you all for the good laugh!

I met a little girl who was really shy about telling me her name. I finally got it...Gathering Flowers.  No wonder she didn't want to share!

I knew a guy who knew a guy whose name was Ivanhoe Birdfield. I love it! Wouldn't that make a great book character?

I deal with IRS W-9 forms in my line of work and today I ran across a first name of Thumper. Dear God.

One of my aunts married a guy whose last name was Halula (no, he wasn't Hawaiian). We had a great time coming up with possible kid names. Talula Halula, Beulah Halula, Lollop Halula.........

Was checking out in a store once.  Lady in front of me said her childs name was (phonetically) Teerae Iroan.

When she was asked to spell it  - it was - TIRE IRON

Heard this on a radio show recently. A set of twins named Lemonjello and Orangejello. Pronounced Le-mon'jello and O-range'jello.

Well, here  we go... In my tiny village in Maine we had a very much loved minister named Oral Ward. I don't know how he made it through life with that name. Honestly !! It's the truth. Everyone kinda snickered behind his back. Note... Dan may take me off this site for this, but it's true.
