Well, my old girls, Maggie, 15, and Lucky, 16, have crossed the bridge. I knew it was coming; Maggie had been off of her food for a day or two and it is amazing how quickly they go downhill...and Lucky wasn't far behind her. Just a couple of days separated my loss. They were the best little kitties and grew to love one another after Maggie lost her sister several years ago. (Prior to that, they just tolerated each other.) Then when we got the "kids" they kind of joined forces and it was them against the young whipper snappers. They were a sight to behold. What I especially loved to see, was them cuddled up asleep together and that is how they are now. There is a whole in our hearts, but we take comfort in knowing that they lived a long and what I'd like to think as good lives. I know they brought so much joy to me and my kids over the years and for that I will be eternally grateful! Sleep well my girls and nuzzle our other furbabies that have crossed the bridge for us!!! Love and miss you. Momma and the kids and the rest of the zoo |
