Friends,

It is with a heavy heart that I have to say Xena is gone.  The last week or so, her condition had worsened to the point where she was having trouble getting up and down, even to go to the bathroom.   The three masses that we found 3 weeks ago had doubled in sized, and today, when I took her to the vet for his opinion, we found a much larger mass on her back that had developed in that 3 week period.  It was evident that the cancer was taking over.  The vet told me that I could wait about a week or we could euthanize her today.  Not wanting her to suffer any more, we decided that it would be best for her to end her suffering today.

Xena, my darling baby, you will be missed more than you can ever imagine.   You have been my devoted friend for 10+ years and have brought such joy to my life.  The truly unconditional love you've shown, not only myself, but all of the people you touched as one of the most amazing therapy dogs I will ever know, is your legacy.  You will be cherished in my heart, and their's, for eternity.

All my love...always.

Tammy

I am so sorry to hear about Xena. I wish there was more to say but there's not enough words to let you know how much I hurt for your loss. Just know you have people and furbabies that understand. Bless you

Tammy,

I am so sorry to hear about Xena.  I have been thinking about you ever since you told us how things were going with her.

You are very lucky to have had so many wonderful times with her.  I am glad you have some other animals there to help you during this time.  I also think it is wonderful that she was a therapy dog and was able to touch so many other people as well!

Please remember we are here for you whenever you need us!

Love,

Snow and Blackberry

I am so so sorry to hear about Xena....It is rough to have to say good bye, but we know in our hearts we don't want them suffering, they mean too much to us for too long to allow that.  She is in good company across the bridge and she is pain and worry free and looking out for us.  As you have heard me say before, "another diamond in the sky".

Hugs and much love,

Soos and the zoo

Tammy;

I am so saddened and sorry to hear of  Xena's passing. One of the most difficult things to do in life is to let a pet go. It is also the most unselfish act of love that you can give a pet to end the suffering. I have been there too.

She was a wonderful friend and companion and you will always have her here with you in your heart.

Rest in Peace sweet Zena. Your Mom loves you very much.
