HEAVEN'S DOGGY DOOR

On july 1-2007 my best friend CHAVITA closed her eyes,
As her head was in my hand.
Hopes for a cure had been in vain,
And she could no longer stand.

The thoughts that scurried through my head,
As I cradled her in my arms.
Were of her funny puppy traits,
And Oh ... her many charms.

Today, there was no gentle nudge
With an intense "I love you gaze",
Only a heart that's filled with tears
Remembering our joy-filled days.

But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, "You should cry no more,
God so loves our canine friends,
He's installed a 'doggy-door'."

IN MEMORY OF TOU, CHAVITA

ITS GOING TO BE 8 MONTHS SINCE YOU LEAVE ME, AND I STILL LOVES YOU AND REMEMBERS YOU.
I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU,

I love the ending :) I have an elderly dog (13) and she seems to be in good health for now, but it's becoming increasingly more obvious that she won't be around forever, as the arthritis causes her to collapse when it's too cold. But I'm enjoying her while she's here, as I'm sure you did with your baby.  How did you deal with the grief of losing him/her?

May your memories shine through your tears. Chavita will always have a very special place in your heart. God Bless.

I loved your beautiful tribute to CHAVITA.  May fond memories replace any saddness within you.    May your heart be full of joy that you and CHAVITA shared.  God Bless.

That was beautiful. On March 8th it was 2 years that my Sara (AKA Tater Tot) was gone. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of her.  I had a plate made with her picture on it. I keep that, her ashes, her harness, her little blue bowl, her toothbrush, and a few of her favorite toys all on top of the entertainment center; this way I see her everyday. I know it hurts, but I can't tell you when it gets better or even if it does.
