Not sure if this is the forum, but here is some info which will help save lives. Do you have a rescue, shelter or no-kill in your area willing to work with the public? Some just DON'T. If you have a cooperative group in your area, consider the following: Talk to your rescue, shelter or no-kill - tell them you want to help (maybe get together with a couple friends). Run ads (FREE) or press releases. Tell the public you need help with their community's animals. Get fosters, donations, supplies. Meet fosters at public places (libraries, etc.). Give address for donations--or put cans out and pick up donations. Make a quarterly SUPPLY drive. Just figure out a dropoff (or pickup--if you have a smaller community and can walk around easily). You might want to set up a backup storage place in case you receive 400 cases of cat food and the group doesn't have the room. Keep at it....these things can be done on a quarterly basis. I can go into detail if anyone asks me, but YOU can make dramatic changes in your community within weeks. |
