Thanks!  Still getting use to this whole world of forums.  I must admit I don't mess around much on the computer other than checking my e-mail, maybe checkin out a site or 2, or simply playing solitaire.  I'm really glad I found this site.  It gave me the incentive to expand my horizons!  HA!HA!

Hello Everyone, I love this site!! I am so glad I discovered the link through Best Friends.

I have always loved animals and grew up volunteering in animal shelters. As a adult I've been involved with getting out into the community through pet therapy visits for over five years. I love all animals and now that I live "out in the country" my hope is to fence in part of the back yard and become involved in golden retriever rescue.
I've had furry children all my adult years, and currently have two wonderfully furry long hair cats, Bobbie who is definately part Maine coon, and Homer who is garden variety walmart special. We have also recently adopted Abby, a three year old golden who is as sweet as she is full of energy! We have just started basic obedience trianing to help us work together better as a team.

I just love everything about the site and will visit over and over again....I'm sure of it!!
Best wishes to all, Live Simply, Love Generously, Care Deeply, Speak Kindly........Karen

Hello everyone. I'm 52, female and from California. My friends call me Pal or Pali (which is actually short for my screen name on other sites; Palomino). Yes, I love horses but don't have them any more.

I've had so many critters over the years that it would take quite awhile to list them all. Right now I am very happy to share my home with my Border Collie, Tai and my three cats...Callie, Zayla (sisters) and Holly. Holly is a new addition who showed up on my doorstep preganant. ~sigh~ So after she has weaned the kittens, she'll be going to the vet to be spayed like my other cats. I hope she doesn't have many kittens (she's just a baby herself...first heat I imagine) but I do have four daughters who live on their own and I'm sure they need a cat in their lives!

Anyway, I have been looking around this community and I am very impressed. I look forward to making new pet pals.

Hello everyone!  I just joined.  I'm theonlyevidence, aka Kris, and live in Beecher, IL.  I'm a 25 year old college student going for my BFA in ceramics and mixed media.

Growing up I was only allowed to have fish, a bird, a hamster, and even an injured butterfly (not all at once!) since it was thought that I was allergic to dogs and cats.  The only cats I ever had were those who lived on my grandparent's farm - I even helped them raise two abandoned litters.  Well, now that I know I'm only allergic to dogs, we have two cats: Cali, a 5 year old Calico and Rufus, a 5 year old Russian Blue.  Both were adopted-Cali from a vet's office, and Rufus from a shelter.  I also have a 6 year old Quaker Parrot named Rio, who I came across while at a tiny pet shop.  Someone had dropped off a box of baby quakers and the owner had no idea what to do with them.  I took one and raised him.  Sadly, with school and work I'm rarely at home so I had to find another home for him.  With the help of a local shelter owner, we found a lady in Michigan who rescues birds, who will be picking him us sometime soon.

Nice to meet all of you!
~Kris

Thank you, Suzanne and hello Kris. :) I have the opposite problem; I'm allergic to birds and cats but not dogs. lol I've had birds anyway (I even raised Doves) and have had cats my whole life. I just take my allergy meds. I know...I'm a nut.

Hi everybody I'm not to new here but I never took time to introduce myself and and my girls. I'm still exploring everything and just know found this page Anyway I'm suzannep and I'm owened by two dogs. Ruby and Tasha. Ruby is my pug terrier mix, Tasha is my pug. They truly act like sister it is alot of fun to watch their interaction.  I've been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. I've had mostly dogs and cats but I have to admit I favor dogs although I would open my house up to almost any animal.

I've really enjoy reading and talking about everyones friends and hope to meet many more animal lovers.

Hi everyone...I just joined this evening.  Saw the ad in a Dog Fancy magazine and thought I'd check it out.  Still new to it, but looking forward to meeting new animal lovers.  I have a 9 year young Chocolate Lab named Mo who is the love of my life!!!  He has a birthday coming up in May.  I can't believe he will be 10!  Wow, does the time fly by!

Hi! I joined about a month ago, but this is my first post. My name is Carrie and I live in Mississippi. I've always been an animal lover and have had a large variety of animals over the years...too many dogs to count, 1 cat, 2 guinea pigs, 1 hamster, 11 gerbils, 2 ferrets, and 4 rats! Right now, I am owned by a Shetland Sheepdog named Lilly. She'll be 2 yrs old on Sunday and we've had her since she was 8 wks old. The breeder has a new litter of pups and we'll most likely be getting one soon...they will be one month old tomorrow. I can't wait...only one more month until I can get one! We also have 2 "blue" hooded rats. They are brothers named Squeaker and Buddy and they are about 4 months old. We've had them since Feb 2. Anyway, I guess I will stop here. I could go on and on and on...... ;-)

I am a member of the ASPCA and they recommend your site. What a wonderful place for pet lovers.
I am an avid lover of all animals and their rights to a good life. My 2 dogs, Katie and Daisy are my joys.
I have a chronic disease and I am home all the time. They are such good companions to me.

Hi - My name is Kelly and I heard of this site through the ASPCA.  I am the very proud mom to 2 dogs and 2 cats.  Also the proud Aunt to one other dog and cat.  I love my kitties but am a big dog lover.  I have Katie and Daisy and they are the joy of my life.  Katie is mixed Chihuahua and Yorkie Terrier.  Daisy is a Shitz Zu.  Katie is the alpha dog and is very busy with her job of being in charge.  Daisy is a lag dog and always at my side.  I am home most of the time and they are great companions and friends to me.

Hi all. My name is Dani and I am owned (literally) by my greay tabby Kitty.

I learned about this website on the ASPCA website which I am a donor of. This is a great site! I'm not usually into blogging but I know I'll enjoy this one :).

I adopted Kitty from an animal shelter while I was looking for a Blue Russian cat. Well, I didn't find a Blue Russian but Kitty found me and won my heart. She was dropped off at the shelter with her kittens. They got adopted quickly but she didn't and was close to being euthanized.

I've been with her for 5 years already and I love her so much. She is like a little person and acts just like a human.

I promise to post pictures soon.

Thanks to all of you animal lovers for saving innocent souls.

Dani
