Well, I have had dogs my whole life. Our first dog was a siberian husky named Sheba. When we got her, she was pregnant, and I was about 3 or 4. She had complications and the vet had to deliver them surgically. Because of her incision, and stitches, the puppies were supposed to be kept away for a while and be bottle fed. We took them all home, and Sheba was an outside dog (something I don't personally do now), and she stood outside all night in the rain crying for her puppies. Well, the next morning, my mom couldn't take it anymore, and brought Sheba inside, and covered her incision with a towel, and supervised the feedings. Sheba did wonderful, and never complained once while the babies fed. She recovered fully, and both she and the puppies were very healthy. Not only was this my first dog, but it was my first really vidid memory as a child. It's something I will never forget. |
