Anyone from PA. I'm 29f who loves outdoor activities and spending time with my four legged kids. I'm looking for someone to hangout with and have fun with.

Poor Jake. I have 4 and a half dogs. One mix 14 Frankie, a pit bull 7 Petey, a elk hound mix 6 Cody, a shep mix 4 Pebbles, and my half is a foster dog. She is a shep mix 3 named Skittles. she has lots of health problems so she will probably end up living here forever. I also have three cats Stormie, Zoey, and Heavenly(my newest one)

I'm new to the board......... 48 yr old divorced female with 2 Yorkies...... just looking for other doggie people in Pennsylvania...... I'm in South Central Penna and there are so few places you can take your pet in public, all local parks ban dogs I imagine it is mostly due to the irresponsible pet owners that refuse to pick up after their pet, but for the rest of us well it's difficult to socialize with other pet lovers! I help with the local shelter and try to come up with pet friendly events for owners and pets

Hi Yorkiemomma, Theres not many places in Uniontown to take dogs to either. I volunteer with a no kill shelter also. I have always wanted a yorkie. So are you working on any pet friendly events right now? I just got back from a seminar with the dog wisperer. It was great.

Hey cool dogperson..what did you learn? I find that very fascinating yet a bit wondering if they really do "relate" to animals. Tell us more! By the way my name is Marlynn...

Hi YorkieMomma, Jakeysmom and dogperson! I am Marie aka "Manny's Mom"--from PA. I just joined yesterday--on my 44th birthday! I have worked in psych nursing for 19 years, and have a 6 yr old male chihuahua. I live in the suburbs of Philly. My parents lived 4 years in Pittsburgh, when they were first married--and dad was in the Navy. This was in the 1950's. LOL Just wanted to say 'hey' and 'Nice to meet you'.

WOW! great to see the other Pennsy people here! Our shelter just had a "dog walk" on Oct. 29th ... collecting donations for the shelter and the walk is 2 miles..... it was a great time....... we had lots of participation for this event and the shelter raised just under $5,000.00 I'm starting to get involved with a Yorkie Rescue group, they are placing dogs on Pet Finder.... I plan to get more involved with being a "foster" momma to Yorkies that have been surrendered or rescued and need a home until adopted... and helping raise money for their needs...... The shelter has tried many different events and for some reason it's been difficult getting community support here... we had a Canine days with different agencies show casing their talents... one was Kindly Canines therapy dogs... another was K-9 unit with their drug sniffing and police dogs....... and the other group was with rally-O a new type of obedience trials..... we had like 6 people show for the demonstations...... it was a horrible turn out ...... I tried a childrens day at the shelter....... reading a story..... doing an animal related craft project....... and learning about animal care..... I had 5 kids show up....... I was hoping for at least 15! We had a Bingo benefit for the shelter and it didn't do nearly as well as they hoped and it was a huge amount of work to organize I know there are LOTS of animal lovers ...... I just don't know where they are when you are looking for participation and it's hard to convince anyone to HAVE events when you can't get support from the community....... so I'm not sure how we'll ever get a dog park here....... so dogperson if you are interested check "pet finder" for a Yorkie..... they have some listed that really are looking for a forever home....... the rescue group I'm joining just picked some up from a puppy mill near Lancaster......... Nice to meet you all! Suz

Hi sorry it took me so long to reply. Work is alittle busy. The dog wisperer was great. He had a lot of common sense solutions to problems. He has his own show on the discovery channel. You should try to catch it. He is really amazing with the dogs. Oh and yorkiemomma I would love to have a yorkie but I have 5 dogs and 3cats and if I tried to bring one more living thing in my parents house all of us would be homeless. Oh and seven springs is very close to me about an hour away I've been snow tubing there a few times. Nice to see so many form PA
