Ok, apparently my subject title "Korea Legalizes Dogs as Livestock" was misleading or not graphic enough. It has nothing to do with dog breeders unless it is dog breeders breeding more dogs to be eaten in Korea. The end of March, 2008, Korea's President, the first President of any country in this world , has changed their law deeming dogs as livestock, what this means in Korea, is that it is legal to use dogs for human consumption. It also has to do with how they are being killed to become the meal. Yes, I am aware that third world countries eat dog meat, I am aware that it goes on in our country. Every year, I visit one of our Indian Reservations in South Dakota helping spay/neuter/vaccinate dogs and cats. One day a couple of years ago, a very nice lady brings in a german shephard that just recently gave birth to 10 puppies. She brought this momma dog in to be spayed, thank goodness! She told me how "they" always ask her for her puppies to make their puppy soup for their sundances. She told me how she always firmly replied no to "them". I would of thought the websites I posted on the subject would of been visited before "readers" posted replies to my message before they knew what they were replying to. My fault???? Once again, here is the website where you can sign the petition against Korea legalizing dog meat for human consumption! From now on, I will try to do better explaining the issue I am writing about! http://www.care2.com/news/member/300426910/736434 I am hoping as many of you that will sign this petition, not living thing needs to die like these dogs are dying in Korea. |
