I have always been around cats and love their independence. Recently I became the owner of a golden retriever when a friend lost his life. It was a tough transition but I grow more and more fond of Skyler every day. Today I got a new puppy and went with the same breed. Rusty in a sense is only half mine. An employee of mine lost her dog late last week and could not bear losing another so the idea of starting over was just not what she wanted to do. Thus I got Rusty, and asked her to help me with him, and help name him, and help decide on food for him, etc. This way she has a dog to love without feeling quite the loss she felt when she lost hers. Oh ya she also watched him today as I took Skyler to my house for the weekend. Rusty is cute enough for many people to love and I will have my time with him too.

That was a very kind thing you did for Kelly, she will want another dog soon but it was sweet of you to help her through this, you are a great friend.

JJ I am just trying to follow Tammys (AATGal) advice. She told me dogs were chick magnets and I should have one. She did not tell me I would get little attention though while the females were playing with the dog. I only half listen to her but maybe there were other instructions I missed lol. I should probably pay more attention to what she says, she seems to know about dogs. I did have to help her understand certain parts of a cat though so she may not know everything lol.

I think it is a very noble thing for you to take in Rusty and the other dog. I think you are now hooked!

Thanks love, you are most kind and I may well be lol. Rusty in a way is really only half mine but it is good to know he is cared for as I work and travel. You are forever responsible for that which you tame.
