My name is Lexie Frazier I am a pet owner and animal lover. My husband and I chose to save a pitbull terrier from abusive owners only to find out he has heartworm. We desperatly love our pet and have taken him to a vet to find out what the course of action we need to take is. There is a treatment however it is extremly expensive. We have set up a website and are currently trying to raise money to save our beloved pet. Anyone that would like to donate any little bit helps. Here is the web address to the page we have started for kilo there is a picture of him here please take a look http://www.fundable.com/groupactions/groupaction.2008-05-23.5927617679

I wish I could help but with me being disabled and  not working it is impossible for me. I have two dogs of my own that I have to take care of. Just know that my I'm thinking of you and wish you a happy ending.  Please keep me informed.  I care very deeply for animals. without animals this would be a very lonely world.

Sorry to hear your dog has heart worm.... I am sure most people would love to help, but really can not afford to. Have you talked with your Vet about getting on a payment plan? Sounds like you already have most of what you need.... another option for you is to apply for care credit... it is instant credit for your pet, and many Vets accept it. Here is the site, check it out.....

I have heard that putting him on Heartguard for 1-1 1/2 years will cure it. Look at oldcountryvet.com. If anyone else has also heard this I'd be interested to know.

I believe heartguard is a preventitive. Lets hear from some of the vets on the site.
