| A 10 yr old pony ( a POA) Pony of the Americas .. was dragged behind an ATV after being roped. Kahlua was everyone's favorite because he was such a friendly pony. He was very trusting and would come up to anyone. The Mercer, PA Humane Society is asking for help in solving this horrific crime. Both of his back legs were broken. Large pieces of skin had been ripped away from his legs, chest, and belly. "There were enormous bruises all over his body, especially on his withers, where another bone may have been broken" said his owner Tory Morgan a trained vet technician. "There were rope burns that went down to the bone. Severe swelling indicates he was alive when those injuries happened. He died a slow and torturous death." Renee Dorogy, humane agent for the Humane Society of Mercer County said, "there are tire tracks in the pasture, we think from an atv". The shelter has put up a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest, and donations were coming in yesterday to up the reward ante. contact info for Mercer County HS: Renee Dorogy, Humane Agent, Humane Society of Mercer County P.O Box 1046 Hermitage, PA 16148 724-981-5445

| People are sick! I hope whoever did this horrible thing is caught & persecuted to the fullest extent of the law! If I had my way, that person/people would be tied to the back of an ATV and suffer the same slow death.

| I don't even want to start on what I would do to the people involved in this atrocity!! I would probably end up in prison if I were to appease my feelings.... I would rather just give my thoughts, heart, and prayers to that wonderful pony. My heart aches for you, I've seen the cruelness of humans. I know that you are in peace now, free to do what you want. My heartache gives me resolve, to do what I can for you and your brothers and sisters. | | | |

| I've been thinking about that poor pony all last night and today. I have this vision of what the poor animal went through and I've been alternating between teary eyed and blood boiling. Kats5dogs and Melissa...believe me, if I was ever able to get back at that piece of s#$* you're welcome to join me! | | | |

| This is exactly why there should be a death penalty for humans who create harm or death to any animal just to satisfy a sick need to cause harm. Amy | | | |

| | I'm with Italachick and the others. By the time we'd be through with the sob, there wouldn't be enough to find to bury. I'm heartsick over this story. It's just beyond comprehension. There has to be a special hell for a**holes that harm animals and children. There just has to be. | | | |

| I definitely agree that there should be a death penalty for this kind of torture/ death of an animal, however, I feel that the lethal injection is just way too easy for that scum. The only long, torturous execution style I could think of is stoning and disemboweling..I know it sounds extreme but just think of the agony that pony went through..I can't stop thinking about it! | | | |

| I am ashamed to say that I too live in Pa. I relocated from New York where the welfare of animals are a much higher priority. Last summer teenage boys thought it would be "fun" to set a young dog on fire. They haven't been caught either. Philly's hitter Chase Utley came to this little dogs aid. They were going to put it down because of the extensive care that the puppy would need. He paid $5000 just to give this dog treatment. I am sure he isn't a native of this state either. The dog is healthy and happy but badly scarred. | | | |
