I found a baby goose running down the middle of a country road 3 wks. ago. There were no other geese or ducks around. I brought her home and kept her in a 30 gallon tote until 2 days ago when she decided that she'd rather be on the bathroom floor! I've taken her over to our lake where there are other geese, but she has no interest in them what-so-ever. She isn't even that interested in getting in the water. What do I do? She's as sweet as can be & really thinks that I'm her mommy! Any advice?

Wow! I've always heard they bond with the first being they come across soon after hatching, and I guess it's true. How sweet. Is there a wildlife rehabilitator in your area that you could call? Maybe check with your local zoo and see if they can take her or can give you some advice? I bet she is just darling. I would think that when she reaches a mating age, she will be more interested in mingling with her own kind, but I have no idea what age that would be. LOL! Best wishes to both you and her.

That is sweet. Can you be her mom?
