Decoy is my grandlab. He's a big bruiser of a black lab currently in residence with us. He's a young boy learning the ways of a multi dog family. Granted, he's spent time with us before, just not day in and day out.

Random Dog Thoughts

Maddie, our little English Springer has a complaint. She says, in no uncertain terms, that I throw like a girl. And she is right.

Trouble is I have a weenie arm. I do my best, but often the ball hits her in the butt or the back because she runs faster and farther than I can toss the ball. I have not tried a ball chucker even though we have two of them.

I've Got My Eyes Open

The kids and I – along with most of Northern Virginia -- are on the lookout for a dog that went missing at Dulles Airport last week.

Beautiful girl Jeddah escaped from her travel kennel when it was struck by a heavier object and the door popped open. Luckily, she is tagged and microchipped and there have been numerous spotting around town.

I was watching an episode of "Petfinder" on Animal Planet recently and learned something I never knew - not all dogs immediately take to water. The dog featured in the episode accidently ran into a backyard pool and sank to the bottom. Thankfully, the host jumped right in to save him!

We just got back from vacation and the babies did great without us -- but the house is full of cat hair!
