| Jul 17 Written by:aajoanne Thursday, July 17, 2008 The kids and I – along with most of Northern Virginia -- are on the lookout for a dog that went missing at Dulles Airport last week.
Beautiful girl Jeddah escaped from her travel kennel when it was struck by a heavier object and the door popped open. Luckily, she is tagged and microchipped and there have been numerous spotting around town. The search has even gone hi-tech with a Help Find Jeddah webpage complete with Twitter updates. Her mom and dad are anxious to locate their pup - especially since they were on their way to Saudi Arabia for a year-long military assignment: “The dog's owners put their lives on hold as they try to track down their beloved pet who has been gone for days. "We don't have kids, we have Jeddah," said owner John Weisner. "She is my child, she is. She's everything to me. I don't know how I can go on without her. I have to find her," said owner Ronia Weisner.” Read the Article >> Tags: 15 comments so far...
Re: I've Got My Eyes Open
Best wishes on finding your missing friend. I don't know what I would do if my boys ever went missing.

Re: I've Got My Eyes Open
You and Jeddah are in my prayers. I live in Kansas so cannot do much else, but wanted you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you. I have 4 furkids and know exactly how you feel. God bless you all and I pray your family becomes whole again soon. I tried to leave this at the web page but it popped up "YOU ARE SPAM". I hope if someone finds Jeddah they don't get that message.

Re: I've Got My Eyes Open
Oh, my heart is breaking for your pet and your family. I lost my Golden Retreiver when we first moved to VA last year. He ran out the door when we had a visitor. I knew he would never find his own way home, seeing that we had just moved here. HE was gone for two days and was find twnety miles away by animal control. He was dirty, wet and looked like he had quite an adventure when I went to the pound to pick him up. I am confident with your og being microchipped and so many eyes out looking, you will have your baby home soon. I know how terrible this feels and will keep praying for your baby to be home safely very soon. Please keep us updated. Hugs and Prayers, Tracey

Re: I've Got My Eyes Open
Jeddah and her family will be in my thoughts and prayers, with heartfelt wishes for a speedy and VERY happy re-union! I know if it were my beloved Tas, I wouldn't rest until I had located my wonderful boy, so I can only imagine what they must be going through!

Re: I've Got My Eyes Open
I can't get this off my mind and I am anxiously waiting for some good news. Someone at the airport has to know what happened or had to have seen her. An unaccompanied mid-sized dog doesn't just wander around a airport or holding area without being noticed. The Airlines is 100% accountable and liable for such misconduct, and perhaps all of this media attention will help prevent these situations. I've been around animals my entire life and I know how smart they are and how they can survive situations, so I do think she will be found. It's just such a tragedy that someone's negligance caused her to be separated from her family and the security she's used to. I have not read anything that indicates whether Jeddah is friendly or skiddish around people. One option is that someone could have taken her in and has not even been paying attendion to the news. However, she is so distinguishable looking that a neighbor or friend would eventually piece it together. I would like to see a full investigation of this incident and hopefully someone who knows something will come forward soon!!!

My eyes are WIDE open
I'm so sorry to hear about this, I cannot stop thinking about it. I pray that she is found soon, I really hope people are aware of this and watch the news so they might be able to help this couple find there pet soon, before they have to leave. VERY SAD to me.

Re: I've Got My Eyes Open
I need this story to have a happy ending..... unlike the story of the missing show Whippet, Vivi at JFK....... I just can't imagine one of my fur girls going missing. Wish I was closer to help man a watch. I think United should pay for any and all expenses incurred during this search........ Those crates are marked "LIVE ANIMAL" and all the employees know the shape and to handle them gently. Someone knows what happened at Dulles and should step up and say they made a mistake. Woof!

No, she hasn't. We've had some more potential sightings, but that's it.
