| Jun 17 Written by:aajoanne Tuesday, June 17, 2008 We all worry about our pets escaping the yard through fences or an open gate, but via trampoline? We hope Harvey is found soon!
"One moment Harvey, a three-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was alone in the garden, the next he disappeared. Laura Kidson, 27, is convinced the animal used her children's large blue and black trampoline next to the wire fence at their home in York to make good his escape." Re: The Case of the Jumping Dog
I have heard of dogs jumping on trampolines, but always with owners or kids, never trying to escape. If he did use the trampoline I can't imagine he would have jumped that far out of the yard. I hope that he is found shortly. I am sure that searches have been conducted.

Re: The Case of the Jumping Dog
I can believe it! I have a 4 foot fence and one of my boys, Freckles kept trying until he could jump over it. Luckily my other little boy, Bear is to short to try. Any way I thought, ok Freckles I'll show you. I went to town and bought some 3 foot wire fencing which I added to the top of the wooden fence. It didnt take very long and Freckles was jumping it too. Until I can figure out something else to do with the fence, I was forced to buy a 20 foot cable for him when he goes outside.

Re: The Case of the Jumping Dog
Oh let me tell you.... we have a 10 mo old boxer puppy and she has learned how to scale our 6 ft wooden fence. We think that we have it fixed and have all perimiters secure and we will leave and she will get out again. We turned the gate aroudn so the 1X4's were on the outside and she didn't have them to hook her feet to to climb over thinking that would solve the problem, we were gone for 50 minutes last night, she was out for 45 of them... we are at our whits end, we feel like we are being bad dog owners not being able to figure it out, but I tell you what, we got ourselves one smart puppy. We hae purchased a wireless electric fence and are going to secure the perimiter that way, so that she can still play outside while we are not there, but stay safe in our backyard. We too bought a 20 ft cable for her to be outside, but they just scare me, as I am certain I will come home one day and she will have found a different side of the fence to scalea and hang herself, so we use it very seldom. We are going to work with her on the elect. fence this week to see how it works, any other suggestions are always welcome. She escapes to make play dates with the neighbor dogs...
